The Abingdon PTA consists of a five-member elected executive, members serving as school representatives to APS-wide committees including the Advisory Council on Instruction, the County Council of PTAs, the Special Education PTA, the School Health Advisory Board; members serving on the various committees responsible for events, programs and fundraisers as well as one time volunteers for special occasions. Members include both parents and teachers.

 

The PTA is run entirely by volunteers. We depend on your help through your time, talent, and financial contributions. We invite families to attend our events, participate in ouru fundraisers, join the PTA, and otherwise get involved in any way you would like!

 

Research shows that children whose parents are involved in their school make better grades and have fewer disciplinary problems. When parents get plugged in at school, their children thrive! There are many ways to volunteer and make a difference at Abingdon. There is a role for everyone to play.
